"Colours of the Monaro" Fundraising Dinner
Once again, the fundraising dinner, the MCCR's major fundraising event, was a spectacular success. In total $60,000 was raised to further the funding of the Cooma Oncology Unit and research into cancer.

The $60,000 was made up of $28,500 from ticket sales and $34,000 through a charity auction on the night.

Adaminaby Bowling Charity Day
A fantastic day of bowls and fundraising resulted in a cheque being presented to the MCCR for $23,617. This money will be used in the local area to upgrade oncology and related services at the Cooma Hospital.

Weird, Wonderful and Wacky Workshop
A dynamic group of women from the Nimmitabel district organised this fundraiser with a difference. The day saw acclaimed corporate speaker, Annie Gregg give her time freely and make her audience THINK. The workshop was a great success and the $3,500 raised was donated to the MCCR.

Berridale Bridge Day
On the 16th September the MCCR held a Bridge Day at Berridale. The day was a great success and the 65 players raised a total of $2,300.

Independent Assn of Seed Graders
$6000 was raised at a Independent Assn of Seed Graders conference held at the Cooma Ex-Services Club held in September. The money was the result of an auction held on the final day of the conference.

The Snowy Ride
The Snowy Ride is an annual motorcycle event which attracts around 3000 riders to the Snowy Mountains. The money raised from this event goes to Childrens Cancer Institute and the Centre for Blood Disorders. In 2008 the MCCR were asked to provide lunch at Numeralla Hall and morning tea at Coolringdon for a group of 30 riders who were taken on an organised ride. For this work the Snowy Ride donated $2000 to the MCCR.

Open Garden Day
Gail Stubbs held an Open Garden Day at her property on the same day the Snowy Ride. She donated the $600 taken at the gate to the MCCR.

Banjo Paterson Day at Nimmitabel
Banjo Paterson historian, Cliff Crane, told the history of Banjo and recited some of his poems. The day was a huge success and enjoyed by all. $3240 was raised for the MCCR.

Cooma Steel Metaland
Recently Cooma Steel Metaland held a giant auction with part of the proceeds going to the MCCR. It was a big day with the special guest, Merv Hughes, proving to be a great attraction. $4500 was donated to the MCCR from the day. 

Dancing with the Cooma Stars
28th & 29 May 2010 saw the biggest event to happen in Cooma in long time. 13 Cooma "stars", along with their partners took to the stage for 2 night and a matinee to help raise funds for the MCCR.

This event saw over 1100 people enjoy a show never before seen in the area.
A great event that in the end saw $121,000 raised for local cancer support services.

Group of riders from the Goldwing Club take the children from Oncology wards in Sydney & Canberra on rides throughout the weekend of theSnowy Ride as part of the Family Program. A naval helicopter fromHMS Albatross also joins the kids and take them for a rideover the mountains. A great weekend for the kids and their families.

Sarah Allen runs the City to Surf for MCCR.
After suffering cancer during 2007-8 Sarah has made an amazing recovery and tackled the City to Surf on August 14. This was her way of saluting the special people who supported her in so many ways through a difficult time. Sarah also wanted to encourage others with cancer to see light at the end of what can seem like a very long tunnel. Sarah raised $27,000.

Torah Bright Snowboard Raffle.
Winter Olympian, Torah Bright donated one of the snowboards she had with her at the 2010 Winter Olympics to the MCCR. We raffled this board along with prizes from Rhythm Snowsports, Perisher and Ski Co, during the winter. The raffle raised $7,300. We would like to thank everyone who supported us by buying tickets.

Dancing With The Cooma Stars 2012.
This gala event was once again held on 24th, 25th and 26th May 2012. It was again an outstanding success and saw over 1500 people attend to cheer on their favourite Cooma "star". You can see photos on the DWTCS 2012 page.
The 2012 event raised an astonishing $185,000.
